On the occasion of International Youth Day, celebrated this year under the theme "Local Youth Actions for the SDGs and Beyond", the Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa affirmed that the royal patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa is the solid foundation on which efforts to empower Bahraini youth are based, and reflects His Majesty's firm belief in their vital role in the nation’s present and future. His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), affirmed that the launch of the Academic Excellence Authority embodies the noble vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. His Highness explained that this vision aims to support and empower Bahraini youth academically and professionally, and to prepare them to be active contributors to the nation's continued development and prosperity towards a sustainable future. His Highness further stated that the Authority serves as a national strategic platform to embrace an elite group of academically outstanding youth and to harness their potential in the fields of scientific research, innovation, and entrepreneurship. “This will elevate Bahrain's competitiveness at regional and international levels,” His Highness pointed out, adding that the Authority’s work aligns with the directives of the esteemed government, headed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in making youth a priority in the government's work programme. Moreover, His Highness stressed that investing in national scientific talents is an investment in Bahrain’s present and future. He emphasised this by stating: “Youth are half of the present and all of the future. The Authority will play a role in uniting these distinguished Bahraini minds, providing them a gateway to make an impact within an ideal environment that fosters creativity and innovation.” These remarks were made during the official launch ceremony for the Academic Excellence Authority, an event attended by His Excellency Mr Aymen bin Tawfeeq Almoayed, Secretary General of the SCYS, and Her Excellency Ms Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs. Also in attendance were more than 100 outstanding students and graduates who have met the Authority's admission criteria. In his speech, Mr Abdulrahman Mohammed Al Jalal, Chairman of the Academic Excellence Authority, expressed his utmost appreciation and gratitude to His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa for his continuous patronage of youth initiatives. He affirmed that the Authority was launched with a vision from His Highness, with the goal of being more than just a recognition initiative, but rather a knowledge-based youth platform that inspires, empowers, and creates an impact. Moreover, His Highness Shaikh Nasser stated that this initiative directly reflects His Majesty the King's dedication to empowering young people and activating their role in advancing the Kingdom’s comprehensive national development. He further stated that advancing youth, developing their skills, nurturing their capabilities, and supporting their innovations form the very essence of the national and governmental approach. “This direction, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, is aimed at preparing a qualified generation of Bahrainis capable of leading the future with efficiency and competence,” His Highness stressed. During the tour, His Highness was briefed on the City's key offerings, which are structured around five main centres: Science and Technology; Arts and Culture; Leadership and Entrepreneurship; Media and Entertainment; and Sports and Health. These centres collectively provide over 5,500 training opportunities through 195 specialised programmes, in addition to supporting 84 entrepreneurial projects and hosting 150 accompanying events. It is worth noting that the entire initiative is managed with high efficiency by 248 young Bahraini volunteers.more

His Highness Shaikh Nasser praised the Group’s efforts and ongoing achievements in the development of the energy portfolio, aligning with the goals set in the Economic Vision 2030 to advance this vital sector. His Highness also commended the role of Bapco Energies’ Executive Management in strengthening the Company’s strategic partnerships with leading organizations regionally. This includes the successful issuance of a 10-year, USD 1 billion Sukuk and the signing of an agreement with EOG International, a leading U.S.-based hydrocarbon exploration company. The meeting discussed the consolidated financial statements for the fiscal year ending 31st December 2024, underscoring the Group’s strong financial performance amidst a challenging economic environment. The Board showcased the Group’s progress in line with the goals set for the year and highlighted Bapco Energies' strong operational excellence as it transforms Bahrain's energy landscape. Additionally, the progress made in centralizing the organization and streamlining key business processes was reviewed. In the presence of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) Chairman, His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the SCYS, President of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), and His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Isa bin Salman Education Charitable Trust, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), and Chairman of the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC) High Committee, the REHC organized today the 19th race of this season, including the fifth round of the fourth edition of the Bahrain Turf Series, at its racecourse in Al Raffa, Sakhir.
The race was held over the Cups of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and those of his children, HH Shaikha Sheema bint Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HH Shaikh Hamad bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HH Shaikh Hamdan bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and HH Shaikh Khaled bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa as well as the Cups of the Bahrain Vision and Al Sakhir.
The eight-round race saw the attendance of a number of Their Highnesses, prominent figures, sponsors' representatives, and a large audience of equestrian sports enthusiasts, all of whom were thrilled by the strong competitions and the exceptional atmosphere of the fifth round of the Bahrain Turf Series.
Marking the event, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa affirmed the constant commitment to support horseracing in the Kingdom of Bahrain, which is witnessing significant progress that reinforces the Kingdom's distinguished position in the world of horseracing.
“This position has been achieved thanks to the continuous interest of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, who is the greatest supporter of equestrianism. His Majesty’s directives emphasize the importance of caring for various equestrian and horse sports in the Kingdom,”His Highness added.
Moreover, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa praised the support of HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in developing horseracing in the Kingdom and facilitating for the best conditions and resources to achieve the highest standards.
Furthermore, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa commended the organizational success of the race held over his Cups and those of his children, applauding the efforts exerted by the REHC’s High Committee, chaired by HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa. His Highness highlighted their role in advancing the Club and implementing development plans and projects, which have contributed to the growth of horseracing in the Kingdom and the achievement of notable successes in organizing international championships and races, wishing the Club further progress and success.
Finally, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa congratulated the winning owners, trainers, and jockeys who came first in the Cups of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and his children, praising the high technical levels and exciting competitions that characterized the rounds. “These factors confirm the excellent preparations by the owners, trainers and jockeys and reflect the high standard of Bahraini horseracing,” His Highness concluded.
Following the conclusion of the races, the winners of the cups were announced, and HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa presented His Highness’s Cup to HH Shaikh Sultan Al Deen bin Mohammad bin Salman Al Khalifa.
Shaikh Duaij bin Salman bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, BOD Chairman of the Horse Welfare Authority, presented the Cups of the children of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa to the winners. He handed the first round trophy to jockey Abdulla Faisal, the second round trophy to Shaikh Isa bin Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa, the third round trophy to HH Shaikh Isa bin Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa, the fourth round trophy to Abdulla Fawzi Nass, and the fifth round trophy to the winning owner, Abdulla Sami Nass.
Meanwhile, the winners of the fifth round of the Bahrain Turf Series were announced, and Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Chairman of Beyon, presented the Bahrain Vision Cup to HH Shaikh Sultan Al Deen bin Mohammad bin Salman Al Khalifa, along with two awards to the winning trainer and jockey. Additionally, Mr. Fahad Mohammed Danish, Chief HR Officer at Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), presented Al Sakhir Cup to the owner’s representative of the winning horse, Steve Bower as well as two awards to the winning trainer and jockey.more

Christmann IV, the President and Chief Executive Officer of APA Corporation, the parent company of Apache Corporation. The meeting discussed potential business opportunities. The meeting was attended by Dr. Mohamad bin Mubarak Bin Daina, the Minister of Oil and Environment and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs and members of APA Corporation’s Executive Team. HH Shaikh Nasser gave an overview of the history of oil and gas developments in the Kingdom. The two parties discussed potential opportunities for cooperation between nogaholding and APA Corporation to optimise Bahrain’s existing oil and gas operations as well as future exploration and development possibilities. His Highness praised the positive approach both companies demonstrated in discussions and expressed the Kingdom’s willingness to work closely with the APA Corporation to further expand recoverable natural resources. Present were UNGA President's Office Director Laszlo Zuki, Head of Political Affairs Yanina Has Mohsen, and Fahad Al-Ajmi, Advisor to the UNGA President on Political Affairs and Security and Peace Issues. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa welcomed the UNGA President and the accompanying delegation, stressing the UNGA's pivotal role in tackling Arab, regional and global issues. HH Shaikh Nasser stressed the importance of harnessing all efforts to achieve peace, tackle global issues and challenges facing countries worldwide. He reiterated Bahrain's unwavering support to the UNGA's efforts to reinforce global security and stability and achieve international development goals.
