The fifth edition of the Sovereign Art Foundation Charity Award closing ceremony was held under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs.
The event was organised by the Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF) in partnership with the Sovereign Art Foundation. It raised approximately BHD 686,210 to support the RHF’s educational and health programmes.
HH Shaikh Nasser affirmed that His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s continued support for charitable work reflects a deep commitment to protecting vulnerable groups and promoting dignity and social welfare.
HH Shaikh Nasser highlighted the role of such initiatives in fostering a culture of giving and strengthening social cohesion in Bahrain and abroad.
The event featured an exhibition and charity auction of student artworks, with proceeds directed to RHF’s educational and health programmes. His Highness emphasised the importance of integrating charitable values into youth education and praised the creativity and civic spirit expressed through the students’ artistic contributions.
His Highness also emphasised the efforts of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in supporting humanitarian projects within the national agenda.
Platinum sponsors, including Arabian Gulf University and Bahrain University College, were honoured for their support, along with other sponsors and contributors to the charity auction.
Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, RHF Secretary-General, commended HH Shaikh Nasser’s support for the foundation, recalling his personal donation of a childhood artwork in the first charity exhibition as a gesture of encouragement for young artists and belief in the transformative power of art.more
His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), chaired a meeting of the Council. His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman, President of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, was present. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad emphasised the SCYS's key role in supporting Bahraini youth and encouraging their active participation in national development. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad directed the establishment of the "Al Bayt Al Oud Authority", an initiative designed to instil values and national awareness. The initiative seeks to develop community engagement and invest in future generations. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad tasked the Ministry of Youth Affairs with continuing to implement and develop these programmes to build an informed and engaged youth base committed to national progress and community cohesion. The meeting reviewed a presentation by the Ministry of Youth Affairs on the Hope Network initiative, an international platform dedicated to unifying global efforts to empower youth and promote hope. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad highlighted that the initiative reflects the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and aligns with the directives of the government led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. The meeting also reviewed the participation of Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, at the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Youth Forum, where Bahrain’s national programme Lamea was showcased as a successful model in preparing effective youth leaders. The Council also noted the outcomes of the Minister’s meetings with senior UN officials, who commended the Hope Network as a comprehensive model aligned with UN goals for youth empowerment. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad directed the formation of a high-level advisory board to oversee the implementation of the strategic plan and 2025 action plan for the Hope Network, marking a key step towards establishing supportive and secure environments that enable youth to confront challenges with a positive outlook. The Council was also briefed on an initiative developed by the Ministry of Youth Affairs to measure levels of optimism and ambition among Bahraini youth aged 15 to 35. The latest edition saw participation from over 5,470 young individuals. Plans are underway to expand future participation to include school and university students as well as youth centres to improve data accuracy and inclusiveness. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad instructed the development of the index’s implementation in coordination with relevant authorities and directed the Ministry of Education to help distribute the survey in schools and universities.more

HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad noted that the meeting is part of national initiatives aimed at enhancing public-private partnerships in supporting Bahraini youth and recognising those who contribute to improving workplace environments. The meeting included the signing of the "Spreading Hope in the Workplace" declaration, reflecting a shared commitment to fostering positivity and building motivating work environments based on appreciation and productivity. The initiative aims to reinforce institutional loyalty and promote sustainability in the national labour market. The initiative is a result of cooperation between Hope Talents, the creative arm of the Hope Fund, and various private sector entities. It forms part of a strategic vision to empower Bahraini youth and encourage their active participation in the Kingdom of Bahrain's economic and social development.more
Under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), Bahrain Bayan School concluded the first edition of its Tech Summit. The theme of the summit centers on preserving Bahraini identity in the digital age and the role of education in this regard. The closing ceremony was also attended by His Highness Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid bin Isa Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Supreme Council for Environment, Deputy Chairman of the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club (REHC) High Committee. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad emphasised that supporting quality educational initiatives aligns with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on investing in Bahraini youth. His Highness noted that the students’ innovative projects presented at the event showcased their awareness of how technology can be used to preserve national identity and Bahraini values. The summit was inaugurated by Dr. Shaikha May bint Sulaiman Al Otaibi, Chair of the Board of Trustees of Bahrain Bayan School. The event included panel discussions featuring public and private sector officials, a technology exhibition, and student-led projects in artificial intelligence, robotics, virtual reality, animation, and digital applications. Dr. Shaikha May bint Sulaiman expressed her appreciation to His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad for his patronage and support of educational initiatives. She expressed pride in the summit’s success in promoting collaboration between the school, families, and the local community in advancing educational innovation rooted in national identity. His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty’sRepresentative for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of Bapco Energies, presided over the Company’s Board of Directors meeting for the first quarter of the year 2025. His Highness Shaikh Nasser praised the Group’s efforts and ongoing achievements in the development of the energy portfolio, aligning with the goals set in the Economic Vision 2030 to advance this vital sector. His Highness also commended the role of Bapco Energies’ Executive Management in strengthening the Company’s strategic partnerships with leading organizations regionally. This includes the successful issuance of a 10-year, USD 1 billion Sukuk and the signing of an agreement with EOG International, a leading U.S.-based hydrocarbon exploration company. The meeting discussed the consolidated financial statements for the fiscal year ending 31st December 2024, underscoring the Group’s strong financial performance amidst a challenging economic environment. The Board showcased the Group’s progress in line with the goals set for the year and highlighted Bapco Energies' strong operational excellence as it transforms Bahrain's energy landscape. Additionally, the progress made in centralizing the organization and streamlining key business processes was reviewed. During the meeting, Mr. Mark Thomas, the Group CEO of Bapco Energies, presented the executive report to the Board of Directors, highlighting the achievements made during the first quarter of 2025. The report covered the Company's overall performance and provided updates on the Group’s major projects. It highlighted progress on several strategic projects, including the Bapco Modernization Project (BMP) and ongoing exploration and production activities at Bapco Upstream.more
Lieutenant General His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Advisor and Royal Guard Commander, welcomed a delegation of U.S. Congress members led by Congressman Adam Smith, Ranking Member of the House Armed Services Committee, and Congressman Wesley Bell, along with several other congressional representatives. This visit aims to strengthen bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United States, and was attended by His Excellency Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa, Deputy National Security Advisor.
During the meeting, Lieutenant General His Highness Shaikh Nasser emphasized the depth of the strategic and historical ties that bind the two nations. He noted that the Bahraini-American partnership is continuously evolving across various fields, driven by mutual understanding and a shared commitment to enhancing cooperation at all levels.
The discussion covered several topics of mutual interest and addressed the latest developments in regional and international contexts. The U.S. Congress members expressed their appreciation for the strong relationship between the United States and the Kingdom of Bahrain.more

His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), attended the annual ceremony organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs to mark Bahraini Youth Day, observed annually on March 25. The ceremony was held in the presence of ministers, senior officials, and Bahraini youth contributing to the Kingdom’s development. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad began by touring the "Exceptional Volunteer" exhibition, which highlighted the contributions of Bahraini youth in various voluntary sectors. A documentary was then presented showcasing the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for the youth sector and the role of Bahraini youth in advancing national progress. This was followed by a poetry recital by Sabika Al Shehhi, titled Strength and Determination. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad honoured 25 participants recognised under the "Exceptional Volunteer" initiative and presented awards to the winners of the commemorative stamp design competition. Hessa Ghazi secured first place, followed by Dalal Bumatia in second and Marwan Abdulla in third. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad received a commemorative gift featuring the special edition stamp issued for the occasion. Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, delivered a speech during the ceremony in which she emphasised the ongoing support of HM the King for Bahraini youth, and His Majesty’s directives to empower them as future leaders. She also highlighted the vision of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in creating opportunities for young people and enhancing their participation in national initiatives. His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, directed support for the Jockey Foundation at Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC) from the proceeds of his private stables' participation in the club’s third annual horse auction. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad commended the development initiatives led by the High Committee of the REHC, chaired by His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Isa bin Salman Education Charitable Trust and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), aimed at advancing all aspects of horse racing. His Highness emphasised the importance of continuing support for the sport in the Kingdom of Bahrain and driving further progress towards its goals. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad also commended the successful organisation of the annual horse auction and expressed hope that its outcomes would contribute to the diversification of horse breeds, provide optimal conditions for stables and horse owners, and enhance competitiveness. The Jockey Foundation sets policies to support Bahraini jockeys in speed horse racing, establishes eligibility criteria, and develops strategic plans for sustainable assistance. It also oversees medical and financial support for injured jockeys during races or training, manages training programmes to rehabilitate injured jockeys, and supervises the Jockeys Academy to prepare riders for local and international competitions. Additionally, the fund coordinates with health authorities, insurance companies, and other supporting entities to ensure comprehensive support for jockeys.more
Under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Highness Major General Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa witnessed the launch of Bahrain's first satellite, "Al Munther." The event was attended by His Highness Colonel Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa and other senior officials. The launch ceremony was also attended by Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam; Chairman of the Shura Council, Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh; Royal Court Minister, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa; Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force, Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa; Deputy Prime Minister, Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa; Minister of Interior, Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa; Minister of Finance and National Economy, Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa; Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa; and Minister of Education, Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma. The satellite was launched from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California, USA, using SpaceX's "Falcon 9" rocket. "Al Munther" is the first Bahraini satellite designed and developed in the Kingdom, aiming to enhance national space capabilities. It carries four payloads designed by Bahraini space engineers, marking a significant step in Bahrain's technological advancement in the space sector. His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa congratulated His Majesty the King and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince on this achievement, highlighting that it aligns with the royal vision to support innovation and scientific excellence. His Highness praised the efforts of all national entities involved in the project. His Highness emphasised that the collective efforts reflect Bahrain's commitment to developing its space sector capabilities and investing in qualified national competencies to achieve further successes in this field.more
